YouTube Magician didn't explain that 8 perfect ones in a row resets the deck, but give any layman a deck of cards and watch them try to faro, it won't be pretty. It's not a secret, it's never been a secret. Laymen know we know how to control cards. It uses very little deception with the faro procedure - he literally says he's going to give the deck an 'unshuffle' or 'a special type of shuffle' depending on where you watch him perform: he calls it an unshuffle for example - and still packs an incredible punch. My favorite routine using the faro shuffle is Paul Gertner's Unshuffled. There are always going to be people trying to exploit the curiosity of people for views look up AGT Magic Act Revealed on YouTube and you'll see videos with, literally, millions of views. It stinks, but there's nothing we can do about it. Those who prefer to be entertained will be entertained, those who prefer to be fooled will be fooled. Those who seek out methods will be able to find them (they may be incorrect methods half the time, but they'll be methods all the same). I wish magicians had not tipped false shuffles to the public.
I wish magicians had not tipped the double lift to the public.
